The Other Guys (2010)

Two middle-level police officers are given the opportunity to show their potential when the most popular cop partners are killed in a stupid accident.

'The Other Guys' is an atypical police comedy in which Will Ferrell is not as unbearable as usual. The jokes are good, the stereotypes they make fun of are real and recognisable and the main partners manage to attract the hearts of the public. Mark Wahlberg is adorable.

American Assassin (2017)

Mitch Rapp becomes an undercover specialist after his fiancée is killed in a terrorist attack.

'American Assassin' is a thriller with terrorists and lots of revenge. The main character is interestingly built, the whole context is quite well thought out and well done and easily attracts its audience. The problems of the film arise from the lack of logic in some elements of the plot. As a whole however, the film is still entertaining and worth seeing.

Robocop (2014)

Alex Murphy, un politist de cariera iubit de familie, este ranit grav si OmniCorp ii folosesc corpul pentru un a crea un robot hibrid.

A trecut ceva timp de la premieră (când de fapt l-am văzut și eu) dar îmi pare că printre atâtea blockbustere populare (și ... mai mult sau mai puțin fără valoare) e păcat ca acesta sa treacă așa neobservat. 

Reia o temă (prea) binecunoscută multora dintre copilăriile noastre, redată deja de mâna unui maestru (Paul Verhoeven) și o transformă foarte credibil intr-o hiper stilizata și modernă poveste tragică și mult mai umană decât am aștepta. Face uz de figura proaspătă și multi-fațetată a lui Joel Kinnaman (cunoscut unora din excelentul The Killing), presară un pic de obișnuitul Gary Oldman (a se citi : nu acel Gary Oldman genial din Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy sau The Fifth Element) et voilà: un film satisfăcător și antrenant, imaginea perfectă a unui blockbuster de succes.
