Teen Wolf (2011–2017)

The lives of teenagers Scott and Stiles change forever when Scott is bitten by a werewolf.

'Teen Wolf' is the unexpected answer to supernatural fans' desperate search for watching material. Possibly avoided, unfairly, because of the werewolves premise, this series offers much more, with its easy-to-like characters, and a rich, varied and multicultural supernatural lore. It offers less humor than Buffy or Supernatural, but it balances  out the offer through much originality.

Director:  Russell Mulcahy and others
Production:  MTV
Creator:  Jeff Davis
Duration:  6 seasons of 12/20/24 episodes (42 minutes each)
With: Tyler Posey, Holland Roden, Dylan O'Brien, Linden Ashby, JR Bourne, Shelley Hennig, Tyler Hoechlin, Crystal Reed, Melissa Ponzio, Ian Bohen, Daniel Sharman, Seth Gilliam

Love and Monsters (2020)

Joel is one of the few survivors of a monster apocalypse, and decides to leave the bunker where he lived for 7 years for the chance to rekindle with his first love.

'Love and Monsters' is an action Sci-Fi movie with a bit of comedy, naivety and romance. The special effects are decent but the story is superficial enough to offer a relaxing evening, without any headaches, but also without anything special.

Director:  Michael Matthews
With: Dylan O'Brien, Jessica Henwick, Michael Rooker, Dan Ewing

American Assassin (2017)

Mitch Rapp becomes an undercover specialist after his fiancée is killed in a terrorist attack.

'American Assassin' is a thriller with terrorists and lots of revenge. The main character is interestingly built, the whole context is quite well thought out and well done and easily attracts its audience. The problems of the film arise from the lack of logic in some elements of the plot. As a whole however, the film is still entertaining and worth seeing.

Director:  Michael Cuesta
With: Dylan O'Brien, Michael Keaton, Sanaa Lathan, Taylor Kitsch

Infinite (2021)

A guy full of unexplained knowledge and suffering from schizophrenia, finds out that appearances are definitely deceiving and he is in fact a multi-reincarnation of the same man.

'Infinite' is (yet another/)an action movie by Antoine Fuqua from 2021, without cops this time. Mark Wahlberg has the gift of being popular and likeable in pretty much anything, and although the subject is largely derivative (see similar other projects in cinema - like Wanted, Divergent, Boss Level - and in TV - like Altered Carbon or The OA), 'Infinite' manages to still be entertaining and non-boring.

Director:  Antoine Fuqua
With: Mark Wahlberg, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sophie Cookson, Dylan O'Brien
