The Lost City (2022)

A recluse novelist is kidnapped by a collector for her archeology knowledge related to the fictional story she wrote.

'The Lost City' is an adventure comedy with a wonderful Sandra Bullock but a weak and unconvincing script. A bit of satisfying fun comes from Brad Pitt's minor role.

Babylon (2022)

The beginning of Hollywood, through the lens of a young man fascinated by cinema, an actress who wants to become a star and a fading star.

"Babylon" is an artistic, dramatic film, that can be difficult to describe. Full of fantasy, and fascination for the decadent period that led the film world in its silent beginnings, it shows freedom, limitless expression as well as the forgetting in easy life, various addictions and cheap admiration. With ideas similar to 'Singing in the Rain', the parallel between the two films is mentioned almost at every step. Fascinating, but also sad.

Director:  Damien Chazelle
With: Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Jean Smart, Olivia Wilde, Diego Calva, Flea, Eric Roberts, Li Jun Li, Max Minghella, Tobey Maguire, Samara Weaving

Bullet Train (2022)

An unlucky assassin boards a train for a basic mission, but realizes that other assassins are around, having similar intentions.

'Bullet Train' is an action comedy with caricaturist elements, in a similar style to Kick-Ass or Smokin' Aces. Imperfect, but it still keeps the viewer's gaze glued to the screen, curiosity and fascination winning in front of such a rich palette of atypical characters, with unusual traits and the interesting interaction between them.

Director:  David Leitch
With: Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Hiroyuki Sanada, Michael Shannon, Zazie Beetz, Masi Oka

By the Sea (2015)

A couple chooses to stay in a hotel in France so that he can write and they can recover their spark together.

'By The Sea' is a drama directed by the protagonist Angelina Jolie and has a very personal note considering the real and publicized drama of the marriage of the two. The film has depth and credibility and the comparison of the two couples: one with experience and a newly married couple has its place in a film that analyzes the degradation of relationships (maybe a little too much). It's not for everyone.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (2019)

An actor and his stuntman close friend intersect with well-known events of 1969.

'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' is a drama with comic accents signed by Quentin Tarantino. It's a  difficult to describe film without revealing its element of surprise, precisely because it makes sense and works as intended because of it. However, in short, the film is Tarantino's ode dedicated to Hollywood or at least the idea of Hollywood as seen through the eyes of an imaginative cinephile. The two main actors have an incredible chemistry and manage to maintain the viewer's attention and the comic credibility of the film every and each moment.

Ad Astra (2019)

Roy Mcbride is an astronaut who embarks on a complex and dangerous mission out of a desire to find out the truth about his father, who disappeared on a similar mission 30 years ago.

Ad Astra is a sci-fi drama that deals with common human themes such as ambition and one's feelings towards disappointing or absent parents. We see here the predisposition to wanting to know one's roots, as well as the undeclared desire, hidden under a mask of apathy, to find out that the guilty parents have some mitigating circumstances. Brad Pitt is very efficient and skilled as always in rendering a wide range of emotions with very little effort, helped by his cynical and bored monologue his character delivers as also the storyteller.
With little action and more of an invitation to reflection, Ad Astra is an entertaining film only for a few.

Director:  James Gray
With: Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Donald Sutherland

World War Z (2013)

Regia: Marc Forster
Scenariu: Matthew Michael Carnahan, Drew Goddard , Damon Lindelof, Matthew Michael Carnahan, J. Michael Straczynski (scenariu), Max Brooks (roman)
Cu: Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, David Morse, Peter Capaldi

Spy Game (2001)

A adus in prim plan doua icon-uri adesea comparate ca stil, popularitate si charisma, fara a-i face sa intre intr-o competitie inutila.

Regie: Tony Scott
Scenariu: Michael Frost Beckner, David Arata
Cu: Robert Redford, Brad Pitt, Catherine McCormack, Stephen Dillane

Inglourious Basterds (2009)

So dissapointed that I could cry...
Orice film va scoate, are prestabilita o eticheta, si lumea abia daca va astepta sa-l vizioneze pentru a i-o atribui.

Scenariul:Quentin Tarantino
Cu: Brad Pitt, Melanie Laurent, Christoph Waltz, Eli Roth, Diane Kruger, Michael Fassbender,Til Schweiger
