The Northman (2022)

A Viking prince vows revenge for his father's death.

'The Northman' is an action film.. that's quite artistic. Stylized to the point of satiety, it manages to hold the viewer's attention, without forcing them to choose a side justice belongs to, merely just suggesting favorites. Well made, with a cast of surprising names, The Northman is a welcome choice.

The New Mutants (2020)

Five young mutants try to come to terms with their new powers and past traumas.

'The New Mutants' is part of the X-Men world, but with teenage characters and YA adventures vibes. With a cast that includes names that were hot at the time (or are still popular now), the film is not bad but not special either.

Last Night in Soho (2021)

A fashion school student enters the world of the 60s during her sleep, as seen through the eyes of a dreamer who wants to be a star.

'Last Night in Soho' is a horror film, with accents of fantasy and drama. The dramatic part is beautifully done, maybe a little melodramatic, the horror part is run of the mill and the final reveal is semi-predictable.

The Menu (2022)

A couple travels to an island where a club of exclusive gourmands experience a prestigious dinner.

'The Menu' is a thriller that reminds one of the predominant obsession of the Hannibal series for the aesthetics of cooking, with strict and consistent rules about what is blame, what is guilty, what is wrong, and what are the appropriate actions for each type of failure, sometimes seeming similar to the Bushido code, where honor is the essence of a person. Interesting, unusual and unexpected, the film is beautifully supported by the main protagonists and their supporting actors group.

Glass (2019)

Glass, Overseer si Beast sunt adusi impreuna de circumstante externe pentru a putea fi convinsi ca impresia de a avea puteri speciale este o dereglare psihica.

Al treilea film dintr-o trilogie anuntata, Glass in sfarsit leaga intamplarile din Unbreakable si Split. Cu o premisa slabuta (convingerea ca abilitatile speciale sunt doar umane si nu mistice ar trebui sa distruga puterea celor trei...) ce contrazice primul film (David era "special" fara sa fie constient de asta), filmul se desfasoara oarecum rapid si se termina ca un balon dezumflat dezvaluind implicarea unui al treilea tip de jucator. 

Ca entertainment filmul functioneaza ok, ca o continuare pentru fanii unei capodopere (Unbreakable) este dezamagitor.

Un tanar are grijă de frații săi în timp ce ascunde faptul că mama lor a murit și că sunt asociați cu un cunoscut criminal în serie.

Am vrut să îmi placă. Și mi-a plăcut la început. Avea personaje plăcute jucate de actori talentați, cu o istorie personală dramatică și intrigantă, dornici să invite binele in viața lor, avea potențial romantic și o potențială fantomă eficientă . Apoi au intrat in detalii și au explicat tot. Și a devenit de duzină. 

Poate finalul e totuși ok, cu idealismul romantic un pic exagerat.

Poate sunt prea cinică și finalul nu e exagerat.

E un pseudo-horror și pentru asta nu poate fi iertat, restul e ok.

Pe George (Jack) îl știți din Captain Fantastic, pe Charlie (Billy) din Stranger Things. Pe Anya (Allie) o știți din Morgan, The VVitch, Split.
