The Night Of (2016)

A quiet young man spends a night full of drugs with a young woman who is found murdered the next day.

'The Night Of' is a dramatic mini-series, procedural in certain aspects, but which mainly focuses on the secondary effects of the incident, on a small and larger scale. Based on a British series, the HBO version has a life and personality of its own. Riz Ahmed and John Turturro are magnificent, and every episode is original and unpredictable.

Nimona (2023)

A knight unjustly accused of a crime, aligns himself with a teenage girl who has many hidden tricks and a strange desire to be a villain.

'Nimona' is a modern animated film, belonging to the fantasy genre. It has interesting elements of futurism mixed with medieval specifics and tries quite effectively to teach lessons about tolerance and the differences between people.

Venom (2018)

Un jurnalist ratat ajunge in contact cu o forma de viata extraterestra care poate supravietui pe Pamant doar daca reuseste sa stabileasca simbioza cu o gazda compatibila. Eddie este desigur gazda perfecta si aventuri incredibile incep pentru el.

Acest film a avut parte de nenumarate critici negative si sincer nu stiu de ce. CGI-ul e bine pus la punct, exista eroi si dusmani fantastici, iar Tom Hardy ofera un spectacol delicios in portretizarea unui nevrotic posedat de o entitate cu superputeri. Doar acest ultim punct luat in considerare si filmul merita mai multa atentie si lauda. Este fun, funny din cand in cand, si impresionant vizual. Intriga cu ceva gauri s-a mai vazut si nu a mai deranjat pe nimeni.
