Red Sparrow (2018)

A ballerina who sees her career destroyed, is forced by circumstances to learn the art of seduction and espionage.

'Red Sparrow' is an action thriller that seems a copycat given some current releases (Atomic Blonde, Anna, anything with Mila Jovovich). The film works well on its own, even with the mentioned comparisons (no one complains when Jason Bourne 13 or Mission Impossible 2000 is coming around the corner ...), and Jennifer Lawrence proves once again that she can alternate dramatic roles with more commercial ones.

Don't Look Up (2021)

Two obscure astronomers discover that a comet will hit Earth in 6 months and spend all their time trying to convince the world that it is something to take seriously.

'Don't Look Up' is a socio-political satire that is unfortunately a little too familiar to be entertaining. The humor of the absurd is still present, the team of actors is a dream, but the moments of frustration and doubt are too frequent and the attitudes of those with power of decision way too devastating.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019)

Jean Grey merges with a powerful astral force and becomes a danger to those around her, causing a conflict between the mutants that try to protect her and those who want her gone.

Dark Phoenix is ​​a continuation of the series started with First Class and tries to tell the story of Jean Grey's duality again, after the failed attempt (according to some) in X-Men: The Last Stand (2006). The current film is instead even weaker, full of bland and ridiculous dialogue, and dubious character actions and decisions.

American Hustle (2013)

O pereche de escroci este fortata de agenti federali sa ajute la prinderea unor pesti mai mari folosindu-si aptitudinile ce i-au adus probleme.

American Hustle este un film antrenant si inteligent fara a deveni prea complicat pentru a intretine atractia audientei. Cu straturi multiple de pacaleli si aparente si personaje variate si interesante individual, filmul te tine curios si intrigat pana in ultima clipa. 

Are o atmosfera tipica a anilor 70, foarte bine intretiunuta de vestimentatia si atitudinea personajelor si o coloana sonora specifica si minunat aleasa. Filmul include o poveste de dragoste subtila si credibila, chiar daca nu este focusul principal. Actorii au prestatii minunate, in frunte cu un Christian Bale subtil si Jennifer Lawrence exploziva.

Mother (2017)

O relație se deteriorează treptat odată ce străini sunt invitați sa împartă căminul cuplului.

Un film metafora de la un cap la celalalt. Folosește simboluri religioase pline de însemnătate atat pentru oameni religioși cât și pentru atei. E păcat ca filmul a fost respins întocmai pentru acest conținut de oameni ce nu pot sa discearnă adevărul de doctrina.
Chiar și lăsând religia la o parte, filmul este o exagerare poetica a trăirilor unor anume tipuri de femei ca urmare a nașterii unui copil sau deteriorării treptate a ceea ce considera drag.
Sentimentele de sufocare psihologica și panica și teama de o soarta de Cassandra sunt atât de palpabile ca filmul este dificil de urmărit dar cu cinematografia sa atât de impecabila și cu măiestria lui Jennifer Lawrence , cu greu te poți abține sa nu continui.
