Mortal Kombat (2021)

Cole Young is looking for fellow champions who can defeat the forces of Outworld.

'Mortal Kombat' is a movie based on the famous game, not the first of its kind. Full of action but not the most satisfying and complete story, Mortal Kombat manages to maintain some interest, but it is weak compared to the excitement of playing the game.

Director:  Simon McQuoid
With: Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Joe Taslim, Hiroyuki Sanada

Rating: 6/10

Uncharted (2022)

Nathan Drake finally uses his vast historical knowledge after Victor "Sully" recruits him to find famous lost treasures.

'Uncharted' is an Indiana Jones-type adventure film based on a beloved video game franchise. This movie is mostly based on the latest game, Uncharted 4, but with a few key changes: new characters (like Chloe Frazer), many renamed characters (Nadine Ross became Braddock), and Nathan Drake is only just beginning his career instead of having retired with his wife (who is completely missing from the movie). The film is decent, with popular actors who carry their role well, but a bit maybe... diluted. Overall, it's still satisfying, probably much more so if you haven't also played the game.

Director:  Ruben Fleischer
With: Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle

Rating: 7/10

Hitman: Agent 47 (2015)

The daughter of a geneticist who created programmed assassins must choose who to trust: one of those assassins or his enemy.

A fairly standard action movie, based on a popular video game. It's not something special but it fills 96 minutes with ok action, an interesting plot and an acceptable and clever ending.

Jürgen Prochnow also happens to appear in a small and insignificant role.

Director:  Aleksander Bach
With: Rupert Friend, Hannah Ware, Zachary Quinto, Ciarán Hinds, Thomas Kretschmann
