Murder on the Orient Express (2017)

Hercule Poirot is forced by circumstances to solve the mystery of a murder committed on the train he is traveling on.

'Murder on the Orient Express' is a new and modern adaptation of Agatha Christie's famous novel. Apart from the modern air (here we mean the observable technology proved by the perfect picture and the color and cinematography in general), the current adaptation does not bring much more than the old ones, except that once again, an impressive and different team of well established artists have gathered to bring the movie to life.

The Pale Blue Eye (2022)

A renowned detective is tasked with solving the mystery of the death of an army cadet, on which occasion he interacts with a young Edgar Allan Poe.

'The Pale Blue Eye' is a period thriller that borrows its style from Poe's writings. The mystery to be solved remains mysterious and keeps the viewer curious for a good part of the film, but the interesting interaction of the characters and the first-hand performances distract from the imperfections that appear in the last third of the film.

Don't Knock Twice (2016)

O mama fosta dependenta de droguri incearca sa isi refaca relatia cu fiica ce i-a fost luata din grija, dar se lupta cu obstacole neasteptate de ordin supranatural.

Un horror eficient de buget mic. Fara efecte speciale prea complicate, reuseste sa aduca la viata un monstru credibil, suficient de macabru si sordid, cu o legenda urbana interesanta. Fara a fi prea de speriat, contine cateva episoade bine puse in scena demne de ceva gen The Conjuring. Cele cateva greseli de logica sunt echilibrate cu o intriga suficient de antrenanta si o poveste secundara neobisnuita si chiar si o incercare aproape complet reusita la un twist.

Pentru fani horror si Battlestar Galactica.
