Scream (2022)

Ghostface makes a killing comeback, on the 25th anniversary of the shocking events, despite the fact that the real culprits are no longer alive.

'Scream' is another iteration of the famous franchise, made 25-ish years after the first film. The plot is not the most original, and the twist is predictable, but the suspense is still believable and worth watching.

Director:  Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett
With: Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Marley Shelton, Jack Quaid

X (2022)

A team of film makers thar produce adult films chooses the rental house of an elderly couple as a filming location.

'X' is a slasher horror film. It has a rather long introduction in which all the characters participating in the adult filming are introduced and interact for a long time, and at a certain moment, as if activating a switch, the film changes its voice and switches to slasher.
X received a lot of praise last year, probably more for the fact that it is an A24 product, but the main strength of the film is the sum of the performances of everyone involved (especially Brittany Snow), otherwise it it's not that special.

Director:  Ti West
With: Mia Goth, Jenna Ortega, Brittany Snow, Kid Cudi

Wednesday (2022-)

Wednesday Addams is sent to Nevermore Academy - her parents' school - as punishment for dangerous activities.

"Wednesday" is a horror comedy series with gothic accents, a Tim Burton make, based on the characters from the Addams Family. Jenny Ortega's Wednesday is faithful to the original material, adding some personal charm and improvisation that must be fully appreciated. The style is characteristic of Burton, in a comeback that deserves to be mentioned and applauded. The plot is quite rich and the whodunnit captures the attention it deserves. The only disappointment is probably the parents, with few scenes, a bit monotonous dialogue, which pales when compared to the memory of the portrayal of Angelica Huston and Raoul Julia, unfortunately. Not by any of the actors' fault, just the writing.

Director:  Tim Burton
Production:  Netflix
Creator:  Alfred Gough, Miles Millar
Duration:  1 season of 8 episodes (45 minutes each)
With: Jenna Ortega, Gwendoline Christie, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Christina Ricci, Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Percy Hynes White, Luis Guzmán,  Catherine Zeta-Jones

The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020)

Regia:  McG
Cu: Judah Lewis, Samara Weaving, Jenna Ortega, Emily Alyn Lind

Rating: 6/10
