Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre (2023)

A team of secret agents for hire participates in a mission in which they have to find out what was stolen, by whom and who is the buyer.

'Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre' is the latest Guy Ritchie made production. Fresh but uninteresting, the film manages to bring back to attention names that were once on everyone's lips (Josh Hartnett, Cary Elwes..) but unfortunately without a suitable script. It works ok as a run of the mill spy film, but it is far below expectations for a Guy Ritchie movie.

Legion (2017-2019)

David is diagnosed with schizophrenia but gradually discovers that he has supernatural powers, which changes his world completely.

An extremely original series, although it is based on the X-Men (Marvel) comic book series starring Legion. Fantastic both literally and figuratively, the series mixes genres, styles, Sci-Fi, slasher horror, comedy and musical, in an intelligent and very effective mix that maintains a stylistic and narrative balance quite difficult to obtain. The magnetism of the characters is undeniable and the evolution of the story is attractive until the end, despite a subtle quality decline due to the obsession with style over substance that results in a couple of filler episodes.

Child's Play (2019)

Andy primeste o papusa inteligenta de la mama sa ce curand demonstreaza un comportament bizar si periculos.

Un remake al unui film horror clasic cu aduce povestea in realitatea curenta (inteligenta artificiala, dependenta de tehnologie, monopol al pietei tehnologice). Chucky nu este schimbat foarte mult si motivatia comportamentului sau sta mai bine pozitionata in contextul temerilor reale ale unei mari parti din omenire ce se asteapta ca Skynet sa fie o realitate extrem de probabila. Jucat ok si imbibat cu un umor negru dar zgarcit, filmul este mai bun decat te-ai astepta, si desi nu este prea ..de groaza, are un pic de gore ce restabilizeaza echilibrul.

Ingrid Goes West (2017)

Ingrid, obsedata de oameni pe care ii cunoaste virtual prin Instagram, devine obsedata de o celebritate noua si isi schimba viata pentru a se apropia de ea.

Un film ce ar trebui sa fie comedie neagra, cu accent pe... neagra. Bine facut, portretizeaza corect obsesii virtuale si sociale de care sufera multi internauti care au uitat sa petreaca timp descoperindu-si sinele din cauza obsesiei pentru ceea ce sinele ar trebui sa fie conform modelor  acceptate ale momentului. Coerent pana la final, reuseste sa pastreze atentia si curiozitatea prin interactiuni interesante si oameni aproape naturali. De remarcat robotismul autist al lui Ingrid (Audrey Plaza) cand obsesia ei nu o vede si sarmul natural al lui Dan portretizat de fiul lui Ice Cube.
