Loki (2021– )

Loki is "retrieved" from a moment before his death to be charged and punished for crimes against the timeline by an authority that protects the planned conduct of time.

'Loki' is a series from the Marvel universe that borrows one of the most beloved villains to turn him into a quasi-hero. The series has endless adventures, with a use of time travel theory very reminiscent to Doctor Who and provides completely imperfect and easy-to-love characters and unfolding of plots that are full of originality.

Director:  Kate Herron
Production:  Disney
Creator:  Michael Waldron
Duration:  1 season so far of 6 episodes(42-55 minutes each)
With: Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino

Tenet (2020)

The Protagonist, a CIA agent, is recruited in an espionage mission with the aim of avoiding a new world conflict, and only one word is given to him - Tenet.

'Tenet' is Christopher Nolan's latest film, and as usual, a film belonging to a miriad of genres. In short, 'Tenet' is an espionage thriller with (at least) one temporal paradox. Fans of any of the 3 aspects will be satisfied spectators, because the director skillfully juggles the requirements of each and every one. The visual and temporal choreography is flawless and impressive, making the film a real artistic and commercial success.

Director:  Christopher Nolan
With: John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Juhan Ulfsak, Clémence Poésy, Josh Stewart, Martin Donovan, Michael Caine, Andrew Howard

Rating: 9/10

Time Trap (2017)

A group of archaeology students follow their missing teacher in a cave where time seems to flow at a different speed.

A film built on an idea of time travel with a twist. It's not perfectly executed but the idea itself is enough to satisfy the audience, the rhythm is quite alert when it needs to be and the characters are charismatic enough even if not very well developed.

Directed by: Mark Dennis, Ben Foster
With: Andrew Wilson, Cassidy Gifford, Brianne Howey, Reiley McClendon

Rating: 8/10

Los Cronocrímenes (2009)

A man accidentally enters a time machine and that triggers unexpected events for him.

Somewhat awkwardly, this little movie makes great use of Doctor Who-worthy material. Without the scientific babble of that one, and much darker and tragic, it puts completely unextraordinary characters in an extraordinary situation and manages to fulfil a whole and almost (multi-) circular puzzle.

Directed by: Nacho Vigalondo
Screenplay: Nacho Vigalondo
With: Karra Elejalde, Nacho Vigalondo

Rating: 8/10

In The Shadow Of The Moon (2019)

A passionate policeman becomes obsessed with a  female serial killer who seems to return every 9 years.

An almost police movie that uses popular elements to maintain interest, which it mostly manages. The plot is somewhat more complicated than necessary and many elements are very predictable, probably because similar ideas have been screened before.
More suitable for those who are missing variations on the time travel theme (no worries - this is not a spoiler as that suggestion first pops up within the first 10 minutes), although it is probably better to re-watch a vastly superior 12 Monkeys.

Directed by: Jim Mickle
With: Boyd Holbrook, Cleopatra Coleman, Michael C. Hall, Bokeem Woodbine
