Doua tinere reusesc sa se strecoare la petrecerea unui milionar popular, fapt ce rezulta in evenimente neasteptate.

'Blink Twice' e un thriller neasteptat, in primul rand surprinzator prin abundenta binevenita de stil fara a cadea in greseala frecventa de style-over-content. Zoe Kravitz este un talent innascut si complet neasteptat, filmul fiind atat de bine facut incat inchide usor gura oricui ar avea argumente impotriva anumitor elemente ale intrigii/deznodamantului. O placere de vizionat, in ciuda elementelor neplacute redate.

'Blink Twice' is an unexpected thriller, primarily surprising by its welcome abundance of style without falling into the frequent mistake of style-over-content. Zoe Kravitz is a completely unexpected natural talent, the film being so well made that it easily shuts down anyone who could have any arguments against certain weaker elements of the plot/resolution. A pleasure to watch, despite the unpleasant elements it depicts.

The Deliverance (2024)

O mama risca sa isi piarda copiii din cauza efectelor unei influente supranaturale din casa in care locuiesc.

'The Deliverance' este un film de groaza staisfacator si frustrant in acelasi timp. Partea supranaturala e realizata destul de bine iar Glenn Close este fenomenala ca mama/bunica disfunctionala, dar intentia de a inspira mila sau indignare la tratamentul primit de mama este derutant in cel mai bun caz, din moment ce zisa mama chiar isi trateaza copiii destul de des in mod inexplicabil.

The Deliverance (2024)

A mother risks losing her children due to the effects of a supernatural influence in the house they live in.

'The Deliverance' is a satisfying but also frustrating horror film at the same time. The supernatural part is done quite well and Glenn Close is phenomenal as the dysfunctional grandmother, but the intention to inspire pity or outrage at the treatment of the mother is confusing at best, since said mother does treat her children quite often inexplicably.

The Substance (2024)

O fosta vedeta apeleaza la un leac misterios pentru a-si regasi parte din gloria apusa cu consecinte neasteptate.

'The Substance' este un film horror ce nu ascunde faptul ca este de fapt un body horror (element ce putea fi folosit ca un twist). Astfel, cand ororile au loc, efectul este diminuat si concentratia se axeaza pe poveste. Metaforic, filmul are multa.. substanta, natura umana fiind frivola dar si nedreapta in evolutia sa si filmul arata acest fapt intr-un mod realist. Ceea ce nu atinge privitorul la fel e faptul ca frivolitatea transforma insul intr-un idiot complet ce se saboteaza exponential. Poate adevarat pentru masele umane mediocre, dar filmul nu este pentru acestia. Si totusi filmul este un success pew multe planuri: Demi Moore revine cu success intr-un rol ce ii arata talentul si chiar este apreciata, un film de tip body horror este bagat in seama la premii consacrate ca Oscar si Globul de Aur.

The Substance (2024)

A has-been resorts to a mysterious cure to regain some of her lost glory with unexpected consequences.

'The Substance' is a horror film that does not hide the fact that it is actually a body horror (an element that could have been used as a nice twist). Thus, when the horrors do take place, the effect is diminished and the focus stays mainly on the story. Metaphorically, the film has a lot of.. substance, human nature being frivolous but also unfair in its evolution and the film shows this fact in a realistic way. What does not hit the viewer in the same way is the fact that frivolity turns the individual into a complete idiot who sabotages themselves exponentially. May be true for the mediocre masses, but the film is not for them. And yet the film is a success, and on many other levels too: Demi Moore successfully returns in a role that showcases her talent and is being praised, aaand a body horror film is actually considered for well known awards such as the Oscar and the Golden Globes.
